In Moseley et al. 2026 in JAMES, we present our work building a data assimilating biogeochemical model for the Atlantic / Arctic. ASTE-BGC is a new member of the ECCO model family.
In Heimdal et al. 2026 in ML:Earth, we update the methodology for our pCO2-Residual data product. One key change is that we now remove the long-term trend of atmospheric pCO2 from the target variable, with the goal of reducing temporal change in the target. In McKinley et al. 2026 in ERL, we compare the hindcast ocean models and data products of the Global Carbon Budget to independent observations (LDEO pCO2 data not in SOCAT, and GLODAP) at 1x1 monthly resolution. We show that substantial biases remain, particularly in the models, and that the representation of seasonality remains a challenge in some biomes.
